In Florida I always have potential clients call 800 342 2762. It is the number to the Florida Health Commissioner and it will give people the number of complaints an individual health insurance company has in the past 365 days. It is unbiased and a great resource. Ask about a few companies just to see where they stand. If an agent/company doesn't want you to call, what are they hiding?
